Erin Maher-Moran

My number one takeaway is the importance of clear communication…. Between team members, other departments we need to work with, vendors, higher-level administration, etc. Also with less face to came communication I learned I had to be more conscious of what I wrote since tone is lost.

Always offer trainings & workshops to faculty on hybrid/flex learning, from pedagogy to room tech to software. No matter how much you use an aaS package, nothing beats boots on the ground SME’s that can quickly answer questions & troubleshoot issues. And oh yeah, hybrid/flex is here to stay, no matter how many are vaccinated or how many schools reopen in fall.

Every space should always have some sort of functionality for remote people to join. Or at least have the ability to add this functionality in the future: have DSP’s with AEC so they don’t need to be replaced in the future, have I/O for cameras and PC’s, etc.

Our people matter. The suffering is real. All voices deserve to be heard. And… get up, move forward, get to work, make a difference. Be so good at what you do that not even a global pandemic will get in the way of you achieving your goals.
