Gimme That Vacation!

“How much ‘summer break’ are you getting this year to take care of yourself?”
Houston, we have a problem! Nearly one-half of our higher ed AV colleagues did not get to take any time off this summer! Zero! That’s not good. That’s not healthy. What can we do to change that? If you fell in that category, please take care of yourself, and remember your family needs you too. Work will always be there. There will always be more projects. Please find time to take care of you!
But then, on the flip side, nearly one-quarter of our people were able to take extended vacations and time off. Is that a sign that you all didn’t have large installs to do because you did them over the past couple years? Are you just prioritizing time off post-pandemic? This is good and something we all should strive for (PTO permitting).
The remaining quart of you got somewhere from a few days to the standard couple weeks. At least you got a chance to relax and refresh. Now keep that up, and continue making sure our health and family priorities are properly aligned with our work priorities.
