People on the Street, Presented by Crestron:
“When Will The Supply Chain Issues Finally Be Over?”
When will the supply chain issues end? Well, according to our higher ed community, not anytime soon. In our most recent front page poll, most voters thought we are looking at a year or more. The consensus seems to lie in the 12-16 months from now timeframe, but with one-third of the voters believing we have more than two years until we see any major reprieve. Given seven options to choose from, here are the results:
TIMEFRAME | PERCENTAGE |
---|---|
Spring 2023 | 0% |
Summer 2023 | 0% |
Fall 2023 | 38% |
Spring 2024 | 24% |
Summer 2024 | 5% |
Fall 2024 | 0% |
2025 or Later | 33% |
This now leads to the obvious question… So now what? How can we be successful if there’s no real end in sight? As realized in the recent Town Hall Webinar with Crestron and Business of AV article by Joe Way, there really only seems to be one real solution. … Build relationships, be transparent, and work together through these tough times. More than ever, this is a time when our higher ed community needs to support one another and our manufacturer partners need to be front-and-center.
The good news is that this will come to an end and we will get back to normal. The hope, though, is that we learn from this, begin better future planning, and help our institutions along the way. We got this… It’s just gonna be a long ride.
