Somehow I Manage | Tidings of Comfort and Joy

By Britt Yenser

As the holiday season wraps us in its warm glow, it brings with it a time for reflection, connection, and heartfelt wishes. In a world that often feels busy and demanding, these wishes aren’t wrapped in glittering paper or tied with perfect bows—they’re gentle reminders, tender hopes, and earnest desires for you to embrace all the light and strength already within you. This Christmas, my wish list isn’t made up of material things but rather a collection of affirmations and hopes for your heart, mind, and spirit.

1- I wish you would wake up every day knowing how smart and capable you are.

2- I wish you would pursue your goals without fear.

3- I wish you would see your body for what it is— the vehicle that brings your soul into the room.

4- I wish you would rest instead of always pushing through.

5- I wish you would be honest about how you’re feeling.

6- I wish you would tend to your inner child with the same care and attention you give others.

7- I wish you understood how important you are to our community.

8- I wish you would reach out when you feel lonely.

9- I wish you would accept that sometimes done is, in fact, done— you don’t need to be perfect all the time.

10- I wish you all the tidings of comfort and joy, in this season and beyond.

As the season of giving unfolds and the new year peeks just around the corner, may these wishes settle softly into your heart. May they serve as reminders on your hardest days and affirmations on your brightest. You deserve rest, joy, love, and the grace to be beautifully imperfect. So, here’s my final wish: may you carry these words with you—not just through this season, but every season. Merry Christmas, and may your days be filled with all the comfort and joy your heart can hold.
