“On Location” with Neat at ISE 2023
By Mike Pedersen
On Friday we had the opportunity to visit the Neat booth at ISU where Justin Bondi was able to give us a tour. One of their primary offerings is an all-in-one conferencing solution called the Neat Board that consists of a large touchscreen display, camera, microphones, speakers, and compute to serve as a Zoom Room endpoint. They showed us a 65” Neat Board model where they demonstrated their camera technology where it can identify and frame-up individual participants; the AI-based camera framing provides significant meeting equity as it allows all the local and remote participants to have similar sized presence in the meeting. They were also showing a larger room system that can include up to 3 displays called Neat Bar Pro. From a higher education technology manager perspective, their most amazing upcoming offering is a back-end enterprise management solution called Neat Pulse. Neat Pulse allows for central control of all their devices to give health status, occupancy, climate information such as temperatures and humidity (sensors are built into all their devices), and more. In addition, you can actually go in and take remote control of a device from your desktop! It is an administrative dream for higher education!
