EDtech Podcast Welcomes New Host
After a fourteen-month hiatus, the longest running AV-focused educational technology podcast, AVNation’s EDtech, has returned with a new host, Erin Maher-Moran. This comes as the podcast reaches the 100-episode milestone mark with an aptly titled: “The New Semester.” Maher-Moran took over the podcast after former host Bill O’Donnell moved on from his position at William Paterson University. She serves as the IT Manager of Classroom Technology at Johns Hopkins University and Vice-Chair of the Higher Education Technology Managers Alliance (HETMA).
AVNation Founder & CEO, Tim Albright explains the addition of Maher-Moran to the show: “Erin is the epitome of what makes AV great. She is a community builder, encourager, and cheerleader of others. Erin is accomplished in both managing and programming, and she is able to communicate her points well.” These qualities make Maher-Moran the perfect candidate to carry on the EDtech legacy.
Erin Maher-Moran has quickly risen to become one of higher ed’s biggest AV stars and most respected voices in the AV community. Her unique combination of professional AV acumen, organizational management experience, and ability to effectively communicate with her higher ed colleagues will continue to serve the program well. Additionally, as Albright notes, “Anyone who can excel at roller derby should have no problems wrangling a bunch of tech managers.” Higher Ed AV wishes her all the success she rightly deserves.
