About the Prism Scholarship
As part of our dedication to support the entire higher ed AV community, HETMA has partnered with AVIXA to provide scholarships that support the growth of underrepresented communities within the US higher education technology industry. “PRISM reminds us that careers are built on more than skills and certifications; they’re built on mentorship, community, and the willingness to help the next person succeed” said Troy Powers, Vice-Chair of HETMA. This scholarship is intended as encouragement for underrepresented higher ed AV professionals to become active leaders and role models for technology managers. Recipients will be recognized as someone determined to leave their mark as an AV professional who has demonstrated a commitment to their continued education, displaying a passion for both higher education and the experiences that audiovisual technology creates. Scored, chosen and distributed solely at HETMA’s discretion, the scholarship includes a one-year Elite Membership to AVIXA, inclusive of the entire online catalog of education, access to a virtual Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) prep course and course materials, coverage of CTS exam fees, a mentorship by a HETMA member, plus a trip to the InfoComm show. Applications for the scholarship open annually in December.
