“My Take” on LTSMG Live: Adam Harvey Shares His Thoughts
Last week LTSMG held its inaugural LTSMG Live event at Wyboston Lakes Resort in the UK. A one-day residential conference in which, the aim was to capture some of the highly enjoyable and informative discussion and debate that usually resides within the email forum and bring it into a face-to-face environment. We have successfully done this with a panel session at our main conference so thought we would expand this and provide some thought-provoking topics for our attending members (representing 37 HE institutions) as well as our 40 vendor partners.
Starting with an enjoyable lunch and general welcome, our three panel sessions (Future Trends in AV, The Changing Space of HE and the Main Panel Debate) encouraged audience discussion by fielding a group of industry experts and HE speakers to introduce topics and gauge opinions. These sessions turned out to be highly informative, very entertaining, and extremely useful to all attendees. After the formal event came to an end we then retired to the bar for an evening of networking over dinner and drinks. It was a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and make some new ones as we introduced some new partners to our HE members. Throw in some Christmas decorations, Christmas crackers and Christmas music and we had an impromptu Christmas party.
A hugely enjoyable day was had by all and it just goes to re-enforce the fact that end-users groups such as LTSMG, HETMA and others are hugely valued and valuable in this vertical. Good practice and knowledge sharing in the industry isn’t uncommon but no other vertical that I know of does it as much and as effectively as Higher Ed. It’s a global HE AV community that keeps getting stronger & stronger.
