Make solving the problem easier than ignoring it | What’s the Point

By Will DeWitt

Sometimes it feels like beating your head against a brick wall. You’ve been bringing up the same issue repeatedly in meetings and nothing has ever been done about it. Everyone has competing demands on their time and it’s hard to give priority to yet another task. So If you feel like no one is listening to your valid complaints, switching tactics and putting forward a plan to address the issue may be helpful. What form this takes will vary depending on the group and project involved. A lot of times it’s best to start this by meeting privately to ensure key stakeholders are on board before bringing it to the larger group, other times it’s just suggesting a product or service to fix a particular problem. The key is to take the onus off of others to do the work and make fixing the problem easier than continuing to let it continue.
