HETMA is pleased to announce the PTZOptics Link 4K and SuperJoy (PT20X-LINK-4K-WH and PT-SUPERJOY-G1) successfully passed the HETMA Approved evaluation process in the category of PTZ Camera and Camera Controller.
The HETMA Approved Program is a signature initiative of the Higher Education Technology Managers Alliance. It serves the membership by providing a list of products that have been rigorously evaluated by peers in a higher education setting and approved for use in that vertical. It serves reviewers by giving them the opportunity to use and test new products in their own environment often with the ability to keep the item after evaluation. It serves the industry by providing a way to get products in front of higher education buyers with a stamp of approval and provides direct feedback on products by the higher education vertical.
Certifications of the HETMA evaluators for these cameras include: CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D Extron A/V Associate, Crestron Master Technology Architect, CompTIA N+, Dante, Extron DSP, Project Management or A/V-AVIXA, QSYS, Net+, CCNA, CEH
Comments from submitted evaluations included:
“Excellent build quality. Good video quality. Very reliable. Sturdy camera, PTZ motor is smooth and quiet. Physical I/O ports feel very high quality.”
“It’s reliable, performs well, is PoE, is competitively priced, has a long warranty, responsive tech support, and can be integrated easily into multiple control systems. Checks all the boxes for the primary needs of Higher Ed.”
“Good quality unit for the price. It’s not terribly expensive and yet it doesn’t feel “cheap” at all. Joystick controller has a good feel to it. Buttons are quiet and soft when pressed (no clicks), ensuring no noise during productions if you’re out in the open operating it.”
“This is a great fit for higher education, especially for the events that need recording and streaming. Being able to control a camera remotely is a plus. Being able to control multiple cameras in a different location is even better. The information on the PTZ Optics website shows that it can control a camera via a network in a different location. So, this would work well for distance learning classes to help reposition the camera for a better view or students taking broadcasting classes.”
