New Virtual Programs from AVIXA
Hybrid learning has become the norm over the last year due to institutions having to adapt because of Covid-19. Overall network security, data sharing, data privacy, enhancing the online learning experience, and looking at classrooms of the future are all themes that are becoming increasingly more important. To address the need for remote professional learning, AVIXA is developed new programs for 2021: the Congresso AVIXA online trade show and the Power Hour webinar series.
In February, AVIXA launched a new webinar series for Learning Tech Managers in AV/IT, in Higher Education, In-house System Integrators, and Tech Support Teams.
The first webinar focused on Scaling Security: With AV technology enabling learning to continue, overall network security, as well as data sharing and data privacy, will play a huge role in 2021. What are the biggest threats to higher education institutions and how do we prepare for these? How do we develop a risk-based security strategy that detects and prevents threats? Where best can improvements be made? You can view the recording on AVIXA’s website.
In future months, join the Power Hour for these sessions:
How to get to yes: Presenting your AV requirements to the IT Team (March 22):
Tech managers are working more closely than ever with IT teams to support the rise in cloud service usage. What are the new network requirements in higher education? What is the IT perspective on increasing demand for cloud services? How do we support teaching and learning?
Improving the Online Learning Experience (April 19):
The modern focus of video conference systems should not start and end with the most top-of-the-line video camera but instead should start with other AV components such as audio, content, and control. This session will look at the common elements of video conference-capable AV systems for learning. How do we provide accessible content? What are the ways to engage students? Which of these elements gets priority?
Classroom of the Future (May 24):
Is it in the cloud? Heading into the summer break, institutions with different needs and budgets share their approach to fully implementing learning’s new normal. What are the challenges of remote participation? What are the standards for installing the necessary equipment in classrooms?
