HETMA Golf Classic Raises Record Funds for Prism Scholarship

LAKE FOREST, CA – September 10, 2024 – The Higher Education Technology Management Association (HETMA) is thrilled to announce the resounding success of its inaugural HETMA Golf Classic. The event, held on September 9, 2024, at the prestigious PGA West Pete Dye Dunes Course, raised a record $75k to support the HETMA Prism Scholarship program.
The HETMA Prism Scholarship provides underrepresented higher education audiovisual professionals with the opportunity to advance their careers through mentorship, training, and certification. The funds raised at the golf classic will directly support this vital program, enabling more individuals to gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the AV industry.
“We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from our sponsors, participants, and volunteers,” said Joe Way . “The success of this inaugural event is a testament to the commitment of the higher education AV community to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
The golf classic featured a day of friendly competition, networking opportunities, and a delicious dinner. Participants enjoyed the beautiful course and had the chance to connect with industry leaders.
The HETMA Golf Classic was made possible thanks to the generous support of all our sponsors. Their contributions were instrumental in making the event a success.
HETMA is already looking forward to the next HETMA Golf Classic and invites all industry professionals to join them in supporting this important cause.
