HETMA at ISE 2025: A Milestone Moment in Barcelona
For the first time in our history, HETMA had an official booth at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2025 in Barcelona, Spain—a major step in expanding our presence beyond North America and into the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. This was not just a chance to introduce ourselves to a new audience but a strategic move to grow our network, build partnerships, and connect with higher education professionals, manufacturers, and integrators in the global AV space.
A Huge Thank You to Our HETMA Delegates
This moment wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible team who represented HETMA at ISE:
- Erin Maher-Moran
- Joe Way
- Ryan Gray
- Troy Powers
- Britt Yenser
- Teddy Murphy
- Dustin Myers
- Justin Dawson
These dedicated individuals spent their time engaging with new partners, answering questions about HETMA’s mission, and spreading the word about what we do. Their passion for higher ed AV was on full display, and we are beyond grateful for their efforts.
In addition to the on-site engagement, a tremendous amount of work went into preparing sponsor deliverables ahead of ISE. From coordinating materials, creating booth content, and ensuring our sponsors were well-represented, this process took significant effort. A special thank you to Ryan Gray and Britt Yenser, who put in extra time and effortto ensure that everything was completed on time and at the highest quality. Their dedication helped us highlight our sponsors in the best way possible, reinforcing the incredible partnerships that make HETMA what it is.
HETMA’s Presence at ISE: A Different Approach
Unlike at InfoComm, where the HETMA booth has become a destination for networking and collaboration, our presence at ISE was more about introducing ourselves to the EMEA market. This was about planting the seeds for long-term growth, just as we did in the United States and Canada. Instead of expecting people to seek us out, we focused on sparking conversations, making connections, and ensuring that people left knowing what HETMA is and why it matters.
And it worked.
We spoke with many new manufacturers, integrators, and vendors who are eager to work with us. There was strong interest from higher education institutions across EMEA, and we had promising discussions about future partnerships with other organizations in the region. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and it’s clear that there’s a need for a higher education AV community like HETMA in the global market.

The Infamous HETMA Happy Hour: A Night to Remember
Of course, no HETMA event would be complete without a Happy Hour, and our Thursday night gathering at ISE was one for the books. Despite a mix-up with the catering—where the event existed in their system, but the order was somehow never fulfilled—we didn’t let that stop the fun.
With some quick thinking and help from our friends at Epiphan, who came through with their amazing Holiday Whiskey, as well as some Icelandic Whiskey and Brennivín (shoutout to yours truly!), we got things rolling while waiting for the catering to arrive. A few beers from nearby vendors didn’t hurt, either. Once the caterer finally showed up, we were already deep into some fantastic conversations, solidifying connections with new colleagues and partners from across EMEA.
Merch Madness: The Scarves Were a Hit
We always bring great HETMA swag, but this year, our scarves were the runaway favorite. While our T-shirts were also a big hit, it turns out that nothing beats a good-looking, cozy scarf at a winter conference—a lesson learned for next year!
Looking Ahead: HETMA and InfoComm Latin America
As if our first official EMEA event wasn’t exciting enough, we’re also thrilled about the recent announcement of InfoComm Latin America. There’s already buzz about HETMA’s potential involvement, and we’re eager to explore what that might look like. As we continue to grow internationally, this could be another fantastic opportunity to extend our reach and support higher ed AV professionals worldwide.
Final Thoughts: A Strong First Step into EMEA
Our first official presence at ISE was a resounding success. We made invaluable connections, introduced HETMA to a whole new audience, and set the foundation for long-term engagement in the EMEA region. While we weren’t a destination booth this year, we laid the groundwork for our presence to grow organically—just as it did in North America.
And this is just the beginning.
With the relationships built at ISE 2025, the interest sparked in higher education AV, and the continued support of our amazing sponsors and members, HETMA is poised for even greater expansion in the years to come.
See you all at ISE 2026!
